One of the best decisions I made during my 2nd pregnancy was to seek out the support of a doula. Brittni was everything I could have hoped for. We spent many hours deep in conversation about what I wanted my labor and delivery to look like. She was always encouraging, supportive, and nonjudgmental. I knew I wanted to give birth in a hospital; it’s where I felt most comfortable. I was really hoping to have a unmedicated birth, but this made me nervous and I doubted my strength and ability to reach this goal. Brittni was empowering and knowledgeable and helped me find the confidence I needed to make it happen. I ended up sleeping through most of my labor at home, working through active labor and transition at home, made it to the hospital at 8cm dilated, and delivered a beautiful baby girl 30 minutes later without any medical intervention. It was exactly what I had hoped for and I owe Brittni for helping me find and trust in the strength of my body and mind.
